Beauty and the Beast Performance Camp

Starr Theater, Walton Arts Center, Fayetteville

entering grades 3rd-6th

Leap into the Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast before it tours to Walton Arts Center this summer!  Campers entering grades 3 through 6 will expand performance skills as they improvise scenes from the classic French tale, learn songs from the Broadway musical and explore choreography.  Beginning with the story and mixing in new ideas, campers will be the actors, directors and writers of their own original theater piece performed at the end of the program for family and friends.  Performance Camp is appropriate for beginning and intermediate young actors.

The animals have escaped and the Zoo Keeper needs our help in finding, categorizing and returning them all. We’ll travel around the world sorting things out at we learn about animal behavior. Campers will take classes in drama, dance, visual art and music that all revolve around zoo animals, zoo life and zoo stories.  Camp will be the same in the morning and afternoon.

Shakespeare’s Heroes and Villains Performance Camp

This camp aims to enhance the understanding of Shakespeare's language through the exploration of movement, text, improvisation and performance. Young people ages 8-13 will analyze and interpret Shakespeare’s most famous villain and hero scenes, create dynamic characters with their bodies, voices, and imaginations and explore the art of stage combat.  Camp will culminate with a performance for friends and family.  Performance Camp is appropriate for beginning and intermediate young actors.
