YOUTH AUDITION ETIQUETTE

  • Please arrive for your audition at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time
  • Props and costumes are awesome, but we ask that you leave them at home for your audition. The directors want to see YOU!
  • Wear clothes that you can move easily in and CLOSED-TOED SHOES. Sneakers are great, dance shoes are great (except tap shoes).
  • Avoid dangly jewelry, hats, or other accessories that might limit your movements.
  • Monologues should be memorized or near memorized.
  • Practice your monologue a little bit each day leading up to the audition.
    • Choose a monologue you enjoy and understand completely.
    • Practice in front of mom, dad, sis, brother, grandma, your neighbor, whoever! This will help you get used to performing in front of others (if this is your first show) and you’ll get some great feedback!
